Pilot notes
WP: 52° 53.00N (Lat) 04°11.20W (Long) (alongside Fairway buoy) Tide: HW -0247 Dover
Approach and Entry
From the Fairway buoy identify the first lateral buoys leading to the long entrance channel which winds through sandbanks for almost 3 miles to the quayside. The channel shifts frequently but is well marked and the buoys are moved accordingly. Latest information is available from the Harbour Master. Upon drawing abeam of Cei Ballast (Ballast Island) the pontoons are located port side in the river ahead, adjacent to the MYC Yacht Club. Yachts mooring on the visitors berths need to be able to take the ground.

Approaches chartlet
Here's the harbourmaster's plan of the approaches. Click on it for the full version in a separate window (1mb). It's the latest as of today (22nd May 2009), but should not be used for navigation after this date as the channel really does move around frequently.
